Student Discount: The low-down
Student discount is exactly what it says on the tin: discount on products and services, only redeemable by students (in sixth form, college and university). However, simply being a student isn’t enough to claim your discounts. To secure the most savings we recommend:
- Carrying your student ID card on you
- Investing in a student discount card (see below)
- Asking if shops offer student discount (not all shops advertise this)
- Using your student discount online and IRL
- Using your student discount abroad with a ISIC digital card (see below).
TOTUM
TOTUM has replaced the old NUS Extra cards, and great news: TOTUM Student is free! However, if you want more than just access to their discounts, you can invest in one of the TOTUM Student+ plans that include PASS ID (proof of age endorsed by the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC)), a tastecard and a 12 month ISIC digital card.
ISIC Digital Card

18+ Student Oyster photocards are essential for saving money on travel around London. With this card, you can buy discounted Travelcards (unlimited travel at any time on bus, Tube, Tram, DLR, London Overground, Elizabeth Line and National Rail services in London – in the zones it’s valid for), discounted bus and tram pass season tickets and add pay-as-you-go credit (you don’t get discounted pay-as-you-go fares).
